Who can we help?
MacDonell Children’s Services serves boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 17. The children placed in our care are in the state’s custody due to neglect, abuse and/or abandonment.
What are the criteria for receiving our services?
Youth placed at MacDonell are between the ages of 11 – 17. They have emotional and behavioral disorders that warrant placement in a residential or out-of-home location. All of the children placed in our care have psychiatric diagnoses and have long histories of emotional, physical and/or sexual abuse.
What are our goals?
Goals are individualized to each child’s needs at the time of placement. However, the MacDonell staff strives to assist each child in meeting their full potential in areas of mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development. It is hoped that each child will be able to set goals for themselves and that each becomes a productive citizen.
